Preparing for the Future

Keep calm and bake on.

I have some great news! I had two interviews this past week and for one of the jobs, I am scheduled for an in-person interview on Tuesday! It’s so exciting. I have missed being gainfully employed. The job I’m doing a second interview for is with Arizona State University and the job I interviewed for on Friday was with the City of Tempe. Both have very good long term potential, but ASU has the extra benefit of a tuition waiver. I ran the numbers in today’s dollars and look at the difference:

Less than $30,000 for all of our tuition expenses and a rough savings of over $176,000!

Dave Ramsey would be so happy with our thought process on this one.

Since I had a job hunting free weekend, we enjoyed some fun family time getting out of the house a little. The weather has been incredible; yesterday morning was so nice and breezy and today felt a little warmer, but it was still nice enough out that we took Avery to one of the parks in Power Ranch to play. I know the playgrounds are suppose to be for residents only, but we did promise her the opportunity to play in a new park. 🙂

We also stopped into World Market today and picked up some goodies for ourselves. Avery got a Hello Kitty pink hot chocolate pack, Thomas got some Chai tea, and I got a bottle of Cupcake Vineyards Angel Food wine.

It was a pretty enjoyable experience considering all the interesting things we found, but the sales manager (not sure if that’s what he was or not) kept stalking us. Seriously, I know us roaming around taking lots of photos might seem suspect, but just come out openly and ask me what I’m doing. I am not trying to steal something and I really don’t need help. I like to venture around and find things by pure happenstance and usually, if I like it enough, I’m going to take a photo of it so I don’t forget to look for it when I’m ready to buy it.
